wreck This is a list of our favourite websites. They have been judged by the wreck site to be EXCELLENT sources for further research on wrecks.

The NOAA Office of Coast Survey has +1.000 maritime charts and +12.000 wrecks in US waters, free available for the public! It is a delight to work with them. A good example for European Hydrographic Offices.

 J.H.D. van Overbeek has made a website about some 2.000 VOC (verenigde oostindische compagnie ships. This database covers much of the ship types, their voyages and fates, but also historical fact about the VOC itself.

  Similar like the wreck site, Ubootwaffe.net is the work of a community of researchers. They provide useful tools and easy, open access information about U-Boats and the Battle of the Atlantic. They also cover the sinking of ships.

Gudmundur Helgason has made a U-boat website. His objective with this project is to make it a top quality reference about the U-boat arm with maximum accuracy and a very wide scope.

  This nicely designed website has an unknown author, but like most of the excellent websites on the internet, it is the work of a community working together. The website covers almost every aspect of the Fleet of Spanish ships.

  The website of a diving club off Dunkirke is covering all the wrecks in their neighbourhood and far behind. Many ships sunk during the wordwar are covered here in detail, including information for divers.

The VIOE (vlaams instituut voor onroerend erfgoed) has a database of hundreds of wrecks in Belgian territorial waters, all in very much detail with true maritime charts! They also cover any object that has a maritime character. Beautifull pictures of findings!

 Andrea Cordani has made a website about all the East India Company ships. This database covers hundreds of ships in very much detail.

  A website by Paul R. Yarnall and the NavSource Team, has nearly all the American ships and their history in their database. Loads of copyright free images are there.

This website has an unknown author and treats all Clyde built ships, more than 20.000 they have! Too bad for the many ads.. otherwise.. excellent! Again a community working together.
